Get started with an account
Here you will learn how to set up Greta when you have an account.
Before you start:
Remove any other lazy loading library
Greta comes with it’s own lazy loading library, it’s how we can deliver images. Lazy loading is also a great way of using bandwidth for both you and your users effectively. Having two lazy loading libs can cause conflicts so it is important that you only use ours. Learn more about Greta’s lazy loading.
Make sure you allow Greta to load CORS headers
If you are serving your content from a different domain than the page you have added Greta to, you need to enable CORS. This setting is a way for your server to tell the browser that it’s OK to load external content. Learn how to set your CORS headers.
1. Log in
Greta is in a closed beta at the moment but you can request early access. When you get access to the closed beta you will get an e-mail with a link to set up you account.
You can use Greta without an account, it is open for anyone to use and is free.
2. Paste the script provided on your account page into the top of the head tag
It includes your access token. When the script is in place Greta will automatically work with video and audio using HLS or Dash. Don’t hesitate to use our support chat if you have any questions.
3. Including images
For Greta to be able to deliver images you need to change the image attribute from
Important! Make sure you have the script in place before changing the image attribute.
- Remove the background-image URL from the CSS
- Specify the background image URL with the data-bg-src
You should now be up and running and be able to see that it’s working in your dashboard.
